Clare Phillips

Clare studied Modern Languages at The Queen's College, University of Oxford and subsequently spent two years teaching at the University of La Coruña. Having obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Bristol, she taught for five years at the renowned co-educational boarding school Millfield, in Somerset, where she also helped to coach the athletics and cross-country squads. She moved to London in 2006 to work at the leading girls’ day school, James Allen's Girls' School in Dulwich, teaching Spanish all levels from beginners through to A Level and Oxbridge entry.

Clare competed at international level in athletics for many years and, consequently, she is particularly passionate about encouraging students to pursue extra-curricular interests, whatever they may be, alongside their academic studies. She has two young children at preparatory schools in South West London and genuinely understands the dilemmas faced by parents when trying to choose the right school for their child. Clare's experience of both day and boarding school life in the UK independent sector, her access to an unrivalled network of contacts in schools across the country, and her desire to fully comprehend the broad range of needs of each individual child enable her to work closely with families to achieve the optimal choice of school.
