Background and Outcome:

At William Clarence, we are often faced with numerous challenges when it comes to educational provision. This can be due to time constraints, difficult family circumstances, widespread locations and time differences, to name just a few. The case outlined below in particular presented some challenges; however, with the dedication and support of our team’s A Level tutoring, we achieved another great success.

The family in question - a brother and a sister - had recently had a family bereavement, and as a result, are now living in two different countries. On top of the family’s sensitive situation, our tutor is based in London, meaning that meticulous planning has been at the heart of this case by all involved.  

Specifically, the brother of the family is based at a boarding school in Sri Lanka, and, due to his personal circumstances, had fallen considerably behind his peer group. As a result, he required a lot of attention from our A Level tuition team here in London.  He had 2 x 2 hours of Maths help per week and a similar level of help on Physics for two full terms. With regular homework set, he gradually improved his standard and went from scoring D's on practice papers to B's and A's.

The sister of the family, who lives in Zambia, needed a less intense A Level tutoring, and has seen her tutor once a week for a year, as well as for one shorter homework session. She has shown great improvement and is now nearing the required standard to take her A Level English exam.

Ongoing tuition has meant that after only a year, both brother and sister are showing great progress, and they are now entering their final year of study.
